After making it through a full practice Thursday, Timberwolves' guard Brandon Roy missed practice Friday for personal reasons, the Pioneer Press reports.

When asked if Roy would play Saturday against Phoenix at Target Center, Wolves coach Rick Adelman said, "I would doubt it."

Adelman added that he didn't think his absence was due to any physical setback.

Roy has been sidelined since early November when knee problems took him out of the lineup. He has struggled with chronic knee issues throughout his career. Arthroscopic surgery on Nov. 19 was his seventh knee surgery.

Swingman Chase Budinger said Friday that he hopes to get back for about 20 games at the end of the season. Budinger also suffered a knee injury early in the season and is recovering from surgery.

Roy told the Pioneer Press, "My goal was to play in all the games, even the back-to-backs, and I was able to do that. I wanted to get in shape and push my body. After all that, I feel really good." The newspaper notes he averaged 21.3 minutes and 10.0 points.
