Bringin' It: Monday's Top 5 Minn. sports storylines

0-3? C'mon, Twins fans! It'll be OK! We're not exactly sure how, but it's the opener -- and there's no time for pouting. At least, not until tomorrow.

Happy Monday! This is the day loyal Twins fans have been dreaming of for months! Opening Day at Target Field!

That pesky start at Camden Yards where the Twins laid an 0-3 Easter weekend egg? Just pretend it didn't happen. Let us help you out: Plug your ears...and go, "la, la, la, la, la" ---"don't want to hear it" -- "la, la, la, la, la."

Good. Now that we're centered -- Here are the Top 5 storyines we're following today:

1) Twins lose! Twins lose! Twins lose! In fact, Minnesota's local nine are off to their worst start in 31 years. Today? The Los Angeles Angels at Target Field, featuring slugger Albert Pujols and starter C.J. Wilson.

2) Ten years ago, the 2002 Twins were one series away from going to their fourth World Series in club history. But the Los Angeles Angels (or the Anaheim Angels, or the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, or the Anaheim Angels of Los Angeles County -- we forget.) ended that dream. Still, it was a great run after facing contraction.

3) Back to 2012. It's NOT SO BAD, according to Knuckleballs blogger Eric Pleiss. He says Morny is hitting the ball had. Duensing-y is looking good out of the pen and Willy already has a homer! He says 159-3 is not so bad.

4) The Timberwolves -- playing for pride -- now in the spoiler role -- can toss a monkey wrench into the Phoenix Suns playoff hopes with a victory tonight at Target Center. The Suns are one game behind Denver for the eighth and final playoff berth in the Western Conference. The Wolves are 5.5 games behind the Nuggets.

5) True story. At St. Paul's Cathedral on Easter Sunday, the priest presiding over the 8 a.m. Mass mentioned not once, but TWICE, the failings of Minnesota's pro sports teams, and how they never make the playoffs. The faithful chuckled. Nervously. The Star Tribunes' Michael Rand takes it from there, wondering when Minnesota teams will be playoff-worthy again.
