The Gopher men’s hockey team pounded Bemidji State 3-0 at Mariucci Arena tonight. Zach Budish scored the first two goals and Nick Bjugstad added his team leading 22nd goal of the season.

The two teams meet again tomorrow night at seven, and the first intermission will be special as members of the 2001-02 national championship team will be on hand to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the title.

Golden Gophers' forward Nick Bjugstad may not play for Team USA in the upcoming World Junior Championships. Bjugstad injured his shoulder December 10th in Minnesota's win over Michigan Tech. He's been wearing a yellow, no-contact jersey during practice. Team USA head coach Dean Blais says Bjugstad won't play unless he's 100-percent healthy.

Three Gophers named Hobey Baker candidates

Three Gophers are among 77 candidates for the Hobey Baker Award, which goes to the nations top college hockey player. Goalie Kent Patterson, forward Nick Bjugstad, and forward Kyle Rau made the list. The candidates will eventually be trimmed to three, with the winner being named April 6.
