Inside College Hockey lists the Gophers men's hockey team as the No. 1 team in the country for the 2012-13 season. The report notes that if Nick Bjugstad returns for his junior season, rather than going pro, Minnesota will have seven 20-point scorers back from last season's runner-up team.

Three Gophers named Hobey Baker candidates

Three Gophers are among 77 candidates for the Hobey Baker Award, which goes to the nations top college hockey player. Goalie Kent Patterson, forward Nick Bjugstad, and forward Kyle Rau made the list. The candidates will eventually be trimmed to three, with the winner being named April 6.
