Minnesota Twins center fielder Byron Buxton homered for the first time this season helping to lead the Twins to a 9-4 victory over the Los Angeles Angels Monday night.

It was Buxton's only hit of the night. He was one of three Twins to go deep – Trevor Plouffe and Robbie Grossman also homered.

That was more than enough run support for Ricky Nolasco (3-4), who held the Angels to three runs on seven hits, while striking out five.

Angels starter Jared Weaver gave up six runs (five earned) in six innings for Los Angeles.

The series continues Tuesday night in LA. Ervin Santana (1-6) is on the mound for Minnesota on Tuesday.
