Ailing Twins relief pitcher Matt Capps says it's his goal -- not his trainers' or doctors' -- to be back with the team "for all of September." The right-hander has only thrown three innings of spot relief since June 15 due to his shoulder injury, which has been upgraded from inflammation to irritation in his rotator cuff.

Twins closer Matt Capps is headed back to the 15 day DL with shoulder soreness. It's his second trip to the DL in the last month. Taking his spot on the roster is Nick Blackburn, who put together two good starts after being demoted to AAA Rochester. Blackburn's ERA with the Twins this season is 8.10.

As expected, Twins closer Matt Capps has been put on the 15-day disabled list with a right shoulder injury. Lefthander Tyler Robertson has been called up from Triple-A Rochester to take his roster spot.

With Matt Capps headed to the disabled list with shoulder soreness, the Twins plan to promote left-hander Tyler Robertson from AAA Rochester. Robertson, who posted a 3.77 ERA in 33 appearances with the Red Wings, is expected to be with the team Monday.

A couple of injury updates to for Twins pitchers Carl Pavano and Matt Capps were unveiled on Friday. Pavano is out for the season with a strained shoulder, but he hopes to pitch again in 2013. "I don't want to go out this way," Pavano told the Pioneer Press.
