He is the 11th Viking to be enshrined in Canton, Ohio. Former Vikings wide receiver Cris Carter was also eligible, but was denied until at least next year.

Former Vikings defensive end Chris Doleman was the third of six players inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame Saturday in Canton, Ohio. Drafted by the Vikings as linebacker, Doleman switched to defensive end and went on to a 150-sack career. Doleman spent his 15-year career with the Vikings, Atlanta Falcons and San Francisco 49ers.

As expected, former Vikings Cris Carter and Chris Doleman are among the 2012 semifinalists for entry into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. There are 26 names on the ballot, but only 4 to 7 players will get in. The winners will be announced Super Bowl weekend.
