Case Keenum couldn't care less what Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer thinks of him now that he's the starting quarterback for the Denver Broncos.

But just three weeks ago, Zimmer cast a large shadow of doubt over Keenum during a press conference at the NFL Combine, questioning whether Keenum could repeat his fantastic 2017 season.

"Is he the guy when he was at Houston or the Rams or is he the guy who played for us?" Zimmer said. "Is it because he had a good team around him?”

Keenum was asked about Zimmer's bluntness in an interview with 9News Denver

“I stopped getting offended a long time ago. Because I’ve had doubters for a long time. I play to prove people right that believe in me," said Keenum. "Now that’s the Denver Broncos – John Elway, Gary Kubiak, Vance Joseph, the offensive staff – I play to prove those people right and my family, coaches I’ve had all along way, more than I do to prove people wrong or people who have doubted me."

It's no surprise that Keenum took the high road.

The day he signed last week he said it was nice to finally have a team pursue him, noting that he wasn't highly recruited out of high school, went undrafted, and then got booted in favor of Kirk Cousins despite going 11-3 as the starter and leading the Vikings to the NFC Championship Game.
