Child pornography charges have been dropped against Todd Hoffner, the Minnesota State Mankato football coach who has always said he was innocent, local media report.

Hoffner, 46, had been put on paid leave from the university in August and charged with two felonies.

At issue were videos of Hoffner's children that discovered on a university-issued cellphone. Prosecutors said the videos show his children dancing naked and touching themselves. Hoffner and his wife have long maintained that the videos were innocent and not sexual.

In a 26-page ruling, District Judge Krista Jass said the videos showed nothing lewd, sexual or exploitative, the Star Tribune reports.

WCCO makes the full decision available here.

Investigators never found child pornography on Hoffner's computers and social workers never found evidence of sexual abuse, KARE 11 notes.
