The Classic Suburban Conference will dissolve following the 2013-14 high school sports year, according to the Star Tribune.

Activiites directors in the conference voted 8-0 in favor of disbanding.

“We said, ‘We’re all going different directions so let’s just disband,’ ” Hill-Murray AD Bill Lechner told the Star Tribune. “Hill-Murray didn’t want it but there is no sense fighting it. We’ll deal with it.”

Henry Sibley, Hill-Murray, Mahtomedi, North St. Paul, St. Thomas Academy, Simley, South St. Paul and Tartan will have to find new athletic homes.

Richfield, which was not included in the vote, is already set to leave the Classic Suburban for the Metro West Conference beginning in 2014.
