Edina native and Golden Gophers basketball player Reggie Lynch is no longer suspended and he can rejoin the team, according to multiple reports.
ESPN's Jeff Goodman was the first to report that Lynch has been cleared by the team.
The 21-year-old was suspended by the team pending the outcome of a sexual assault charge in May. Lynch spent 36 hours in jail but was released after charges were not filed. After being released from jail, an investigation still took place.
The Hennepin County Attorney's office announced in August that Lynch would not face charges due to insufficient evidence.
Lynch was one of six Gopher basketball players to be suspended or kicked off the team in the 2015-2016 season.
After transferring from Illinois State, Lynch sat out all of last season. Now active, he's expected to be the starting center for the Gophers this season.
Lynch averaged 9.5 points, 5.4 rebound and 2.8 blocks in his sophomore season at Illinois State. The Minnesota native led Edina High School to a third place finish at the 2012-13 state tournament.
