UMD completes sweep of Colorado College

The UMD Bulldogs defeated Colorado College 6-0 Saturday night to complete their weekend sweep on the road. They also beat the winless Tigers Friday night by a score of 5-0.

Austin Farley scored two goals for the Bulldogs and goaltender Kasimir Kaskisuo held the Tigers scoreless for the second straight night with 26 saves.

St. Cloud State beats UND, gets weekend split

The Huskies defeated North Dakota 6-1 Saturday night after losing the series opener Friday night 4-3 in St. Cloud. Six different players scored goals for St. Cloud, and goalie Charlie Lindgren had 28 saves.

It was only the second loss for the Fighting Hawks this season.

Mavericks and Northern Michigan skate to a(nother) tie

Minnesota State and Northern Michigan kissed their sisters again Saturday night as they tied 2-2 to wrap up their weekend series in Marquette, the Mankato Free Press reports. Friday night they played to a 1-1 tie.

Daniel Brickley and C.J. Franklin scored for the Mavericks. Franklin's goal came in early in the third period and tied up the game.

MSU was more aggressive at the net, outshooting the Wildcats 35-13. But they came up empty again on the power play, going 0-for-4.

Bemidji State ties Lake Superior State

Bemidji State also played to a tie Saturday night against Lake Superior State 1-1.

Laker goaltender Gordon Defiel had 47 saves, and BSU couldn't score on any of their six power play opportunities. The game went to overtime and ultimately ended in a tie. The Beavers lost to the Lakers Friday night 3-2.
