Communication, not chemistry, was Wild's problem, Fletcher says

When Mike Yeo was fired midseason, the former coach sat down with the media shortly after to discuss what he thought went south during his final season with the Wild.

When talking about the divide between veterans and the youngsters in the locker room, Yeo told reporters in February, "I think that there was ... a disconnect. But this has gone on for a little while between older guys and younger guys."

On Thursday, Wild general manager Chuck Flethcer denied a chemistry problem in the locker room and instead said there is a "little bit of a generational difference."

Fletcher gave interim coach John Torchetti a vote of confidence saying, "he is a very serious candidate to remain" the head coach. Fletcher added that whoever ends up coaching the team has to hold players accountable.

Whether it's buying out aging veterans or dabbling with trades, Minnesota's front office believes this team is trending in the right direction and believes there is more wiggle room to make upgrades this summer.
