Cycling race comes to Uptown Friday

Cyclists will be racing through the streets of Uptown in Minneapolis late Friday afternoon as part of the five-day Nature Valley Grand Prix event.

The next stage of a five-day, five-city cycling race, the Nature Valley Grand Prix, arrives in Uptown in Minneapolis on Friday afternoon, weather permitting. The women race 28 laps starting at 6:15 p.m. and the men go for 40 laps beginning at 7:45 p.m.

The second day of the race was scheduled for Cannon Falls on Thursday, but it was canceled due to wet weather. The first phase of the race was in St. Paul Wednesday. The race continues in Menomonie on Saturday and Stillwater on Sunday.
