The Twins designated Jason Marquis for assignment on Tuesday and called up Cole De Vries from AAA Rochester. De Vries, a righthander from Eden Prairie, will make his big league debut Thursday in Chicago. The Twins also announced Anthony Swarzak will start on Friday.
