Ex-Twin Delmon Young came up big last night in the Tigers-Yankees playoff game. Young, now Detroit’s left-fielder, hit a solo homer to break a 4-4 tie in the 7th inning, powering the Tigers to a 5-4 win.

Despite being named MVP of the American League Champion Series, former Twins outfielder Delmon Young won't be playing for the Detroit Tigers next year. Tigers President and General Manager Dave Dombrowski told teh Detroit Free Press he doesn't plan to resign Young. Dombrowski says Victor Martinez will be sliding into Young’s role as designated hitter.

Tigers outfielder Delmon Young has been suspended seven games by Major League Baseball. Young was arrested in New York over the weekend on a hate crime harassment charge. Commissioner Bud Selig says, "An incident like this cannot and will not be tolerated."
