It only took Brian Dozier one at bat to make a splash in Tuesday night's Major League Baseball All-Star game.

Dozier sent a 1-2 pitch from Pittsburgh's Mark Melancon over the center field wall in the top of the eighth inning to help the American League to a 6-3 victory over the National League Tuesday night.

Dozier's blast was a solo home run. It completes what has been a special week for the Twins second baseman.

After finding out he hadn't made the All-Star team as a reserve at the start of last week, Dozier responded by crushing a walk-off homer against the Baltimore Orioles.

On Friday, after it was announced that Mike Moustakas had won the Final Vote for the last spot on the American League roster, Dozier blasted another walk-off homer against Detroit.

After Jose Bautista was scratched from the All-Star roster, Dozier was named to the team on Saturday, and again he responded with a home run.

Twins closer Glen Perkins pitched the ninth inning. He gave up one run in the inning, but closed it down and allowed the American League to once again claim home field advantage in the World Series.
