Dubnyk douses Flames, as Wild notch 1-0 win
Well that's one way to do it.
Wild goaltender Devan Dubnyk, who joined the team not even two weeks ago, shut out the Calgary Flames on their home ice Thursday night, propelling the Wild to a 1-0 win.
Dubnyk stopped all 30 Flames shots that came his way, helping the Wild improve to 22-20-6.
The 28-year-old's shutout performance was needed – the Wild mustered only one goal, and it came early.
Zach Parise scored 8:59 into the game, after Thomas Vanek deflected a Calgary pass in the Flames' right circle. The puck dribbled right to Parise on the goal line, and the forward skated right in front of Flames goalie Jonas Hiller before putting it past him.

It was Parise's team-leading 20th goal of the season.
