Ethiopian pair hopeul of shattering Grandma's Marathon course record

In 1981, Dick Beardsley ran Grandma's Marathon (Two Harbors to Duluth) in 2 hours, 9 minutes, 37 seconds. To this day, that's the course record.

That may change Saturday morning.

Two runners from Ethoipa -- Bazu Worku and Jereje Yadete -- are late entries who just may challenge Beardsley's mark, according to the Duluth News Tribune.

Worku, 22, has a previous marathon best of 2:05:25. Yadete, 30, has a PR of 2:09:51.

Add in a cool weather forecast (temps in the 50s, with a chance of rain), and the 37th running of Grandma's might just go in the record books as the fastest ever.
