Division II Bluefield State lost a nail-biter to No. 6 Maryland 146-17 in an exhibition women's basketball game Wednesday night.

Had it been a regular season game, the 129-point decimation would have destroyed the previous record for margin of victory in a women's Division I game, according to ESPN. The record is 102 points.

Maryland outscored Bluefield State 72-0 in the second half. That's not a typo. Bluefield State shot 0-for-20 over the final two quarters.

The annihilation of a smaller school has Maryland head coach Brenda Frese getting some heat on social media.

And yes, that's the same Brenda Frese that was head coach of the Gophers in 2001-2002, guiding them to the second round of the NCAA Tournament and earning AP National Coach of the Year honors.

"I thought tonight was a good tuneup for us," said Frese.

Frese doesn't appear to be sorry for the blowout because after the game she retweeted SportsCenter's note about the game.

Bluefield State's roster is made up of eight freshman, one senior and one sophomore. It was so bad for the Big Blues that Maryland's fans were groaning after every missed shot in the second half – actually hoping Bluefield would score, according to the Maryland student newspaper.
