Vikings place Hutchinson on IR

The Minnesota Vikings have placed guard Steve Hutchinson on injured reserve. The 11-year veteran suffered a concussion December 18 against New Orleans, and wasn't able to play last week against the Redskins. This is the second consecutive season Hutchinson has finished the year on injured reserve.

Vikings left guard Steve Hutchinson suffered a concussion during Sunday's loss to New Orleans. He left the game in the third quarter with a cut on his lip that required stitches. Today, Leslie Frazier said Hutchinson cannot practice or play until he passes the league's mandatory concussion protocol. Cornerback Asher Allen also suffered a concussion.

Nicholas Taylor used to be a speedy point guard at Florida International University. Now he's in the NFL. The Vikings signed Taylor to a reserves/futures contract Friday. Taylor has been playing defensive back in the arena league and impressed the Vikings with his speed at Florida International's pro day.

Benchwarmer Bob -- Bob Lurtsema -- says Lynn was “not respected by the players.” In a Pioneer Press interview, Lurtsema said Lynn once told him that “without the Vikings, you’re nothing”...and tried to cut his salary by $5,000.
