P.J. Fleck continues to put Minnesota in the national spotlight.

On Tuesday, Fleck joined USA Today Sports for a web stream interview and dropped this mega quote.

"I think this is the sleeping giant of college football. I really believe that. We haven't won a championship in 50 years, but that's the opportunity to become a legend. We have everything a student-athlete can be looking for."

Fleck's "sleeping giant" claim is sure to go viral with most skeptics laughing at the possibility of Fleck being right. Like he said, the Gophers haven't won a football title in more than 50 years.

All in all, this is the kind of publicity that Minnesota should love. Fleck is bragging about a program that's been middle of the road in the Big Ten for a long, long time.

Minnesota opens the college football season Aug. 31 at home against Buffalo.
