Twins call-up Parmelee showing signs of pay-off

It has taken nearly all season, but Chris Parmelee finally looks like the player who turned heads in his first major league call-up last September. Sent back to Class AAA Rochester after a lackluster start with the big-league club, he has returned and is hitting .500 (9 for 18) with two homers and four RBIs in five games since being recalled Aug. 29.

Mauer out, Parmelee in Twins lineup

Joe Mauer is out of the lineup for a fourth straight game because of a sore thumb. Meanwhile, Chris Parmelee is starting at first base as he rejoins the Twins from AAA Rochester. Parmelee credits ex-Twin Tom Brunansky for helping him "clear" his head in during his short stint in the minors.

Twins promote Matt Carson, not Chris Parmelee

Despite hitting .348 with 15 home runs and 41 RBI in 50 games at Triple-A Rochester, the Twins won't be adding Chris Parmelee to the 25 man roster right now. Instead, the opening goes to outfielder Matt Carson. Carson is hitting .277 with 14 homers and 49 RBI in 110 games at Rochester.

Is Parmelee too hot to keep in Rochester?

It's been over two weeks since the Twins optioned Chris Parmelee back to Triple-A Rochester, and it might not be long before he gets called back up. Parmelee is hitting .452 with 3 homers and 9 RBI in nine games. Assistant GM Rob Antony says it might be good for Parmelee to go on a bit of a run at Triple-A.

Twins' Parmelee to start at first base?

The fact that Justin Morneau has started ten straight spring training games as the Twins' designated hitter could mean Chris Parmelee will be starting at first base when the regular season begins next Friday in Baltimore. Parmelee hit .355 with four home runs and 14 RBI in 21 games for the Twins last season.

Twins send De Vries back to Triple-A, recall Parmelee

With three days off in the next few weeks, the Twins don't need a fifth starter, so they sent Cole De Vries back to Rochester today. Hot-hitting Chris Parmelee will be called up to take his spot on the roster.

Start No. 17 the charm? Twins' Hendriks hopes so

You’ve heard this before: The Twins’ Liam Hendriks hopes to pick up his first major league victory tonight. If so, it would be his first win after starting his career with an 0-9 mark. He’d be a hero if he got the job done. The Twins have lost two straight to Kansas City at home.

Twins finalizing September call-ups

The Twins will put the finishing touches on September call-ups when infielder Eduardo Escobar and reliever Luis Perdomo join the team on Tuesday. Escobar was the main player the Twins received when they traded Francisco Liriano to the White Sox. Nick Blackburn and Brian Dozier will not be recalled from Triple-A Rochester.
