Fox 9 news director Dallman to join new Fox Sports network

KMSP-TV's vice president and news director is leaving the Twin Cities Fox affiliate for a job with a new national Fox Sports network slated to launch in August, according to Fox 9.

Bill Dallman, who joined Fox 9 in 2006, will be the vice president and news director at Fox Sports 1.

In his new role, Dallman will manage the news-gathering operation and oversee the network's new three-hour opinion and highlight show, called "Fox Sports Live." He'll start his new job on July 1.

"I'm thrilled to be joining Fox Sports 1 team and I'm ready to bring viewers a unique, dynamic and fun sports highlights and opinion show in Fox Sports Live," Dallman said in a statement. "My extensive background in news, matched with my knowledge and love of sports, is the perfect fit for a 24/7 sports/news operation."

The Pioneer Press notes Fox 9 managing news editor Marian Davey will take over as news director until Dallman's replacement is named.
