The Big Lead reports that FOX Sports decided not to renew the contract of football analyst Brian Billick.
“We simply decided to move in a different direction. We appreciate all of Brian’s contributions over the years at Fox," a spokesperson for Fox Sports informed The Big Lead.
Billick, 60, was hired in 2007 by Fox Sports to provide color commentary during NFL games. He spent the last six years doing so, and it's unlikely that his broadcast career is over.
The Baltimore Sun reports that Billick will continue contributing to NFL Network. Billick confirmed the report with a tweet early this morning.
Billick, who is best known for coaching the Baltimore Ravens to a Super Bowl XXXV victory, has a career coaching record of 85-67. He guided the Ravens for nine years (1999-2007). Prior to that he was the offensive coordinator for the Minnesota Vikings from 1992-1998.
Billick helped the Vikings set an NFL record, which has been broken multiple times since, 556 points in 1998.
