Gerhart gets the scoop on Dolphins' Martin, says ex-teammate doing better

The NFL is a small world after all, and in the hazing case of Richie Incognito and Jonathan Martin, it seems several Vikings know at least one of the players.

Incognito is currently suspended for hazing Martin during their time together with the Dolphins - so much so that Martin left the team last week, and here are a couple of good backgrounders on the entire situation, one from the Sun Sentinal that delves into how much the coaches had to do with the hazing, and another from Pro Football Talk quoting Incognito.

As BringMeTheNews reported earlier, Jared Allen knows Incognito, and now Vikings running back Toby Gerhart has reached out to Martin, an old teammate when the two were at Stanford.

Gerhart told the Pioneer Press on Tuesday he reached out to Martin through former Stanford offensive linemen Tyler Mabry and David DeCastro.

"They said he's with his family and dealing with it, and he's doing better,'' Gerhart said. "They said he's doing OK. They said his family went out there to Florida to be with him while he's going through this."
