Lynx rookie guard put on waivers

The Lynx waived rookie guard Julie Wojta before their game against the Washington Mystics Friday, the first game after a month-long Olympic break. A second-round pick in this year's WNBA draft, Wotja, out of Wisconsin-Green Bay, was first waived at the end of training camp and brought back for a seven-day contract July 10.

Wild to pick seventh in NHL Draft

The Minnesota Wild will be picking seventh in June's NHL Draft. The Wild had a 4.7 percent chance of moving up in Monday night's draft lottery, but didn't. Notable NHL players selected seventh overall include Nashville defenseman Ryan Suter in 2003 and former Golden Gopher Kyle Okoposo, who was drafted by the Islanders in 2006.

Wild's draft board '99.9 percent done'

The NHL Draft is quickly approaching and the Minnesota Wild's draft board is "99.9 percent done," according to assistant general manager Brent Flahr. The Wild have had recent success in the draft. Hockey's Future ranked the Wild the second-best organization in the NHL.

Wild put Nystrom on waivers

The Minnesota Wild are saying so long to veteran center Eric Nystrom. He was put on waivers today. If another team doesn't claim him -- he'll be sent to Minnesota's minor league affiliate in Houston. Nystrom has two years left on his contract at $1.4 million per year.
