But Minnesota's Tracy Claeys admits the Gophers may have taken New Mexico State too lightly last Saturday. The Gophers -- heavy favorites -- lost by a touchdown. Claeys tells the Star Tribune, that in today's game, "you can't blow anybody off."

Roseville Area High School boys hockey coach Jeff Pauletti has resigned amid an investigation over alleged bullying and intimidation in his program.

Mike Hastings has agreed to replace Troy Jutting who was fired after 12 seasons with the Mavericks men's hockey team. Free Press reports Hastings signed a four-year contract worth $225,000 a year. Minnesota State-Mankato has struggled in the WCHA finishing 11th in the last two seasons.

Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor has joined the NBA lockout talks in New York. Yesterday’s session went a marathon 15 hours, but both sides reportedly made a bit of progress. Union leaders say an 82-game schedule can be played this year -- if the lockout ends this weekend.

Troy Jutting has agreed to step down as the head hockey coach at Minnesota State Mankato University. Jutting, who also played for the Mavericks, will take over other administrative duties until his contract expires next year. He's been Minnesota State's head coach since 2000.
