When the Gophers take the field against Texas Tech in Friday's Meineke Car Care Bowl in Houston, Tex., it's not entirely clear who will start as quarterback.

MarQuies Gray said that Coach Jerry Kill asked him to be prepared to play wide receiver, according to the Pioneer Press.

Gray was the starting quarterback at the beginning of the University of Minnesota's season. Freshman quarterback Philip Nelson took over for Gray later in the year. The paper reports that there is no tension between the two players and that Gray has even served as a de facto mentor to Nelson off the field.
