The Gophers blew a second half lead and lost to Michigan State, 66-61 at Williams Arena on Wednesday night. Minnesota led by as many as nine points in the second half before collapsing under pressure. Three straight turnovers late in the game allowed the sixth ranked Spartans to take the lead, and eventually win.

The Minnesota Gophers fell to 0-3 in the Big Ten after Wednesday night's 64-62 loss to Iowa at Williams Arena. Maverick Ahanmisi had a chance to tie the game but missed a tough layup as time expired. Julian Welch led the Gophers with 14 points and Rodney Williams added 11 points and 12 rebounds.
