The No. 2-ranked Gophers men's hockey team held off Bemidji State 4-3 Saturday in Bemidji to earn a share of the Western Collegiate Hockey Association's MacNaughton Cup with St. Cloud State University, the Pioneer Press reports.
The Gophers earned the co-championship since the Huskies lost 3-2 at Wisconsin Saturday, reports the St. Cloud Times.
The Huskies earned their share the title Friday with a 4-2 victory over the Badgers.
The Gophers (24-7-5, 16-7-5) will be the No. 2 seed in the WCHA playoffs and will host a first-round, best-of-three series at Mariucci Arena beginning next Friday.
SCSU (21-14-1, 18-9-1) is the top seed in the WCHA playoffs.
The Gophers are exiting the WCHA to play in the Big Ten Conference next year.
