Gophers blow away Hurricanes, advance to N.I.T. Elite Eight

Rodney Williams and the Gophers are headed to the N.I.T. Elite Eight after destroying the Miami Hurricanes, 78-60 Monday night. Williams scored a game-high 21 points, 16 of which came in the first half. Minnesota plays Middle Tennessee Wednesday night. The winner advances to play at Madison Square Garden in the Final Four.

Gophers beat La Salle in NIT's first round

The Gophers upset third-seeded La Salle in their opening game of the NIT Wednesday, 70-61. Rodney Williams scored a game-high 21 points to go along with six rebounds. Minnesota plays Miami Monday in the second round.

Gophers to play LaSalle in NIT

As expected, Tubby Smith’s Golden Gophers didn’t receive an invitation to the NCAA Tournament. Instead, they received a No. 6 seed in the National Invitational Tournament. They play third-seeded LaSalle in the first round Wednesday.
