Gophers overwhelm Rutgers for second straight Big Ten win

Rutgers Scarlet Knights 61

Minnesota Gophers 83

The Gophers men's basketball team has turned a 13-game Big Ten losing streak into a two-game conference winning streak after beating Rutgers 83-61 Tuesday night at "The Barn."

1. King playing with some urgency

Joey King, who has just three regular season games remaining in his career, was playing with a newfound sense of urgency. The Senior forward scored 15 points off the bench, knocking down four threes.

He also grabbed seven rebounds, had four steals and a block.

2. First win streak since November

The victories over Rutgers and Maryland give Minnesota its first winning streak since early in the season.

The last time Minnesota won consecutive games was Nov. 27 and 30 against Nebraska-Omaha and Clemson.

3. Double-double machine!

Gophers freshman Jordan Murphy continues to post double-doubles. The Minnesota forward finished the night with 19 points and 14 rebounds, six of them were offensive.

None was prettier than this one.

Tweet of the Night:

On their combined 1-27 Big Ten records coming into Tuesday night's tilt, this seemed a little too funny to pass up.
