Richard Pitino is earning the $450,000 raise and one-year contract extension the Gophers gave him in August.

On Wednesday, Pitino's pulled in his second four-star recruit of the week with the commitment of one of Arkansas' top-rated players, Eric Curry, a 6-foot-8 power forward from Southwest Christian Academy.

Curry's mother made the announcement on

According to 247 Sports, Minnesota 2016 recruiting class is now ranked 10th in the nation and third in the Big Ten.

On Monday, Pitino landed the top player in Minnesota's high school class of 2016 when Hopkins shooting guard Amir Coffey committed to play for the University of Minnesota.

Coffey told the Pioneer Press that he got to know Curry at a Nike All-America camp and they were together during an official visit to the Gophers, which included attending the Gophers-TCU football game on Sept. 3.

“I hope Eric Curry joins the Gophers family,” Coffey said. “I actually knew him before the visit. I went to a Nike Camp last year in St. Louis. Ever since then we’ve been texting every week. We have a pretty good relationship.”

Rivals ranks Curry as the 150th best player in the class of 2016 and gives him three stars.

ESPN Recruiting Nation says Curry is the No. 2 player in Arkansas.
