Gophers sweep Bemidji State

The No. 7-ranked Minnesota men's hockey team clinched home-ice for the first round of the WCHA playoffs. Erik Haula netted two goals to help the Gophers beat the Beavers 4-1 at Mariucci Arena Saturday night. Minnesota is now two points ahead of Minnesota-Duluth for first place in the conference.

Gophers complete first sweep of 2012

Minnesota (19-9-1, 13-5-0 WCHA) held onto a 3-2 victory over St. Cloud State University Saturday night at the National Hockey Center. The Huskies (10-14-4, 7-10-3 WCHA) netted the first lead, but the Gophers freshman forward Sam Warning went to score the game-winning goal with less than two minutes left in the third. Minnesota is off to Denver in two weeks. The Gophers now lead UMD by five points in the WCHA standings.
