Gophers to play Duke, other top teams in Battle 4 Atlantis

The Gophers are in the Bahamas for the Battle 4 Atlantis, and they'll tip off their action against fifth-ranked Duke on Thanksgiving afternoon. Other national powers in the tournament include No. 2 Louisville, No. 13 Missouri and No. 19 Memphis.

Trevor Mbakwe says playing Duke will be a "big opportunity" to prove themselves to the rest of the country. Rodney Williams agreed, and added that Minnesota needs to "embrace the opportunity" and forget about the name on the opponents jersey.

University of Minnesota basketball fans are in for a treat this Thanksgiving when the Gophers men's team plays Duke in the opening round of the Battle 4 Atlantis, a holiday tournament in the Bahamas. The Gophers haven't played Duke since losing to the Blue Devils in the Sweet 16 of the 1989 NCAA Tournament.
