The Gophers came out on top of the Frozen Four border-battle with a 3-1 win over the Badgers Friday at home. They'll move on to their fourth championship game in as many years.
The Gophers didn't get out to a strong start. After a scoreless first period, the Badgers came out swinging in the second period, scoring 52 seconds in with a Annie Pankowski goal and Emily Clark assist.
The Gophers tied the game eight minutes later with Hannah Brandt scoring, thanks to assists from Dani Cameranesi and Maryanne Menefee. Two minutes later, Menefee scored the second Gopher goal with the set-up from Megan Wolfe and Brandt.
Kelly Pannek had third goal of the with about three minutes left in the second period. The assist came from Brandt and Menefee.
Cameranesi hit 100 career-points in Friday's game.
Wisconsin fired off 35 shots next to Minnesota's 23.
The Gophers move onto the national championship Sunday and play Harvard, which is a repeat of the 2004-2005 title game.
