Gophers women's hockey team sets record with 22nd straight win
The Golden Gophers women's hockey team made NCAA history Saturday with their 22nd consecutive victory, the Pioneer Press reported.
The record-breaker for the defending NCAA champions came with a 9-1 victory over Minnesota State - Mankato at Ridder Arena.
The streak dates back to last season -- the Gophers are 14-0 this season so far.
The previous record for consecutive victories was held by Harvard, who won 21 straight games from Jan. 4 to March 15, 2008.
The Gophers have 20 games left on their regular season schedule.
