Griffen returns to practice after mother's death

Vikings Defensive end Everson Griffen returned to the practice field Friday, just two days after his mother died unexpectedly during a visit to the Twin Cities. Also on the field were receivers Percy Harvin and Jerome Simpson and running back Adrian Peterson for a light, non-padded workout. Not practicing are linebacker Marvin Mitchell for a calf injury and safety Mistral Raymond who’s still recovering from an ankle injury.

Antoine Winfield returns to practice

Antoine Winfield returned to the practice field Wednesday for the first time since injuring his neck October 2nd in Kansas City. He was limited in practice but said he'll know more after he practices in full pads Thursday.

Harvin & Winfield miss practice

Percy Harvin missed practice Thursday because of a rib injury. Head coach Leslie Frazier says Harvin is dealing with sore ribs but expects him to play Sunday in Chicago. Antoine Winfield's stiff neck kept him out of practice too. His status for Sunday is in doubt.

E.J. Henderson returns to practice

E.J. Henderson returned to practice Thursday. The Vikings linebacker missed Wednesday's practice with a swollen left knee, and has been bothered by the knee for more than a year. He hasn't missed any games because the tender knee, and it's unlikely he misses Sunday's game either.

Kill returns to Gophers' practice

University of Minnesota football coach Jerry Kill checked out of Mayo Clinic Wednesday and was back in the Twin Cities in time for the Gophers' afternoon practice. Kill checked himself into Mayo Sunday after suffering another seizure. His coaches fully expect him to be on the sidelines Saturday in Michigan when the Gophers play the Wolverines.
