Jack Taylor is his name and scoring points in massive quantities is his game.
Taylor is a guard for Division III Grinnell College in Iowa, and on Sunday he scored a ridiculous 109 points to lead his team to a 173-123 win over Crossroads College in Rochester, Minnesota.
It's stunning when a player, regardless of the level they play at, tops the century mark; but this wasn't even Taylor's career high. He scored that on November 20, 2012 with an NCAA record 138-point game.
Via an article from the Pioneer Press, Taylor torched the Rochester college with 53 points in the first nine minutes of the second half. He finished the game hitting 24 of 48 three-pointers.
He only played 29 minutes.
"Just like last year, I couldn't have done this without my teammates," Taylor said. "I give so much credit to them. This truly was a team effort. I'm thankful for the program and the people I have playing with me."
Michael Rand of the Star Tribune writes that it "seems like Grinnell and Taylor look for opportunities for publicity against weak opponents. It got them on SportsCenter, so it worked."
