"Everyday" Eddie Guardado was inducted into the Minnesota Twins Hall of Fame before Friday night's game against the Tigers at Target Field.
Guardado's message to the crowd was loud and clear as he yelled, "I never left here!"
"When I left here, my heart stayed here," he said. "I'm always going to love Minnesota when I go down six feet under."
"He had courage, and he had that desire out there," Twins manager Ron Gardenhire said. "And he brought it every day. He really did. He came to pitch every day and always had that smile on his face and kept everybody positive. But when it was his turn to take the ball, he was a very serious guy."
Guardado played 17 seasons in the big leagues, 12 with the Twins. 116 of his 187 career saves came with the Twins -- third most in team history behind Rick Aguilera and Joe Nathan.
Tom Mee was also incuded into the team's Hall of Fame. He is considered the first ever employee of the Twins.
