Jaguars' Gus Bradley tosses cold water on Peterson rumors

Gus Bradley is from Minnesota so anything he says should be taken as truth, right?

Bradley, a native of Zumbrota, Minnesota, told First Coast News that Jacksonville hasn't had any realistic conversations about trading for Vikings running back Adrian Peterson.

"No, not really," Bradley said when asked about a report from the Pioneer Press linking the Jaguars to Peterson. "Not between (general manager) Dave [Caldwell] and I. I may have a while ago but that was just conversation not any direction that we would go."

Atlanta, Tampa Bay, Dallas, San Diego and and Arizona were also linked to Peterson by the Pioneer Press.

NFL Media's Marc Sessler writes that an executive with the Cowboys also splashed cold water on the idea of trading for Peterson.

Bradley enters his second year as head coach of the Jaguars with a group of non-superstars in his backfield: Denard Robinson, ex-Viking Toby Gerhart, Storm Johnson and Bernard Pierce.

Robinson, a former quarterback at the University of Michigan, led the Jaguars in rushing last season with 582 yards. Gerhart finished with just 326 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Stay tuned: we're pretty confident there will be another Peterson story or two between now and the NFL Draft.
