A season of domination has paid off for Gophers defensive lineman Ra'Shede Hageman and cornerback/safety Brock Vereen.

Hageman, a senior from Minneapolis Washburn High School was named to the All-Big Ten First Team by the coaches and media on Monday.

According to the Star Tribune, Hageman is the first Gophers defensive player to be named to the first team by the coaches since Karon Riley in 2000.

Hageman leads the Gophers with 11 tackles for losses, is second on the team with nine passes defensed, has two sacks, two blocked kicks and one interception. See all the Gophers stats here.

Vereen was voted on by the coaches.

Vereen is fifth on the team with 56 tackles. The senior, whose brother, Shane, is a running back for the New England Patriots, switched positions from safety to cornerback following Minnesota's loss to Michigan in early October.

Redshirt sophomore defensive end Thieren Cockran, who leads the Gophers with 7.5 sacks, was named to the second team by the media.
