Heatley and Setoguchi expected to play Friday

Newcomers Dany Heatley and Devin Setoguchi are expected to make their Minnesota debuts Friday night when the Wild play host to the Columbus Blue Jackets. Before then, rookie first-round pick Zach Phillips will play in the Wild's second preseason game, Thursday night against St. Louis.

Heatley scores game-winner in Wild debut

Dany Heatley's debut with the Wild was a good one. He scored a power play goal and the game winner in overtime as the Wild defeated Columbus 4-3 in preseason action. Devin Setoguchi also scored in his debut.

The procedures weren't serious, but Minnesota Wild stars Niklas Backstrom, Dany Heatley and Devin Setoguchi have had minor surgeries since their season ended earlier this month. Backstrom and Setoguchi battled injuries this season, but Heatley played in every game.

Wild beats Flames on Setoguchi's shootout winner

Josh Harding stopped all four of the Flames' shootout attempts and Devin Setoguchi scored the shootout winner as the Wild beat Calgary, 3-2 Thursday night. Dany Heatley and Darrell Powe also scored for Minnesota. Mikko Koivu played for the first time in over a month. He finished with five shots in 22 minutes.

Wild hope to get top line going against Penguins

The NHL season is young, but Minnesota's top line is sputtering a bit. Going into tonight's game against Pittsburgh, Dany Heatley, Mikko Koivu and Devin Setoguchi have totaled just three goals so far for the Wild. In the last two games, they've gone without a point.

Heatley & Koivu want to continue building chemistry on the ice

Developing more chemistry with Mikko Koivu will be a key to Dany Heatley scoring more goals next season. Koivu, who missed nearly 30 games with a shoulder injury, says he played well with Heatley, but says "when you're off for a period of time, it's going to hurt chemistry."

Ottawa will bring some heat to Heatley

Dany Heatley played four seasons with the Ottawa Senators before requesting a trade in 2009. Heatley and the Wild play in Ottawa Tuesday night, and he says he's not looking forward to the fans getting on his case, but he wants to leave with a win.
