The 2018 girls' high school hockey State Tournament is underway at Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul and will be through Saturday's championship games.
Marshall vs. #2 Breck - Final
Breck jumped out to a 2-0 lead after the first period and then poured it on from there, crushing Marshall 9-2 to advanced to the semifinals.
Carly Beniek, Olivia Mobley and Luci McGlynn each had a pair of goals for Breck.
Proctor/Hermantown vs. #3 Red Wing - Final
In a slight upset, Proctor/Hermantown topped Red Wing 3-1 to advance to the semifinals where they'll face Breck on Friday.
#1 Warroad vs. New Ulm - Final
The Warriors led 3-0 in the third period before two goals in 10 seconds made it 5-0. According to the MSHSL, New Ulm had allowed just six goals in its previous seven games.
#4 Alexandria vs. #5 St. Paul United - Final
Despite being out-shot 35-18, Alexandria advanced with a 3-1 win over St. Paul United. Alexandria will square off against Warroad in Friday's Class A semifinals.
Class AA action begins at 11 a.m. Thursday.
