Totino-Grace defeated Mounds view, 21-19 and Lakeville North pulled an upset by beating previously undefeated Rosemount, 14-13 on the first night of the State Football Tournament. Read about those games at MNFootballHub.com.

Friday's action features nine games across the state and Saturday will close out the quarterfinal round of the tournament. The goal for all tourney teams is reaching TCF Bank Stadium for the Prep Bowl, which will be played outdoors for the first time since the pre-Metrodome era.

Five teams are back to defend their 2013 championships: Grand Meadow (11-0) in 9-Man, Mahnomen (11-0) in Class 1A, St. Croix Lutheran (8-2) in Class 3A, Hutchinson (10-0) in Class 4A and Eden Prairie (10-0) in Class 6A.

Eden Prairie, Hutchinson and Mahnomen are riding incredible winning streaks. Hutch has rattled off 35 straight wins, including titles each of the last two years; Mike Grant's Eagles have walked away with a win in 27 consecutive games; Mahnomen, according to Inforum, has won 39 straight – the fifth longest win streak in Minnesota prep football history – including each of the last two Class 1A titles.
