Another brilliant display of pitching gave the Cleveland Indians a 1-0 win Friday night over the Chicago Cubs and a two games to one lead in the best-of-seven World Series.

The hero at the plate was Coco Crisp, the veteran outfielder who blooped an RBI single to right field in the seventh inning for the game's only run.

But again it was the Cleveland pitching staff paving the way to victory. Josh Tomlin started what Andrew Miller, Bryan Shaw and Cody Miller finished for the fifth shutout this postseason by the Indians. More than 41,700 fans watched in agony over the final three innings ... just hoping the Cubs would come through with a big hit.

But the return to Wrigley Field for the World Series for the first time since 1945 didn't go as hoped. The Chicago Tribune put it best:

"Die-hards crossed continents just for a shot at buying tickets going for $2,000 online or watching at a local establishment for a $250 cover charge. It was as if all the kids who grew up across the country watching the Cubs when WGN-TV aired games nationally decided to meet when their favorite team finally reached the World Series.

"People are flying in just to be at a bar," Maddon said."

Chicago put runners at second and third with two outs in the ninth, but Allen struck out Javier Baez on a high fastball to end the game.

The series continues through the weekend with Game 4 Saturday and Game 5 Sunday. Both are at Wrigley Field and both start at 7 p.m.
