It took Jared Allen 12 years to get to the Super Bowl, but he's finally there with the Carolina Panthers.
The former Vikings defensive end plans to play in the game despite breaking a bone in his foot a couple of weeks ago.
"I feel great," Allen told NFL Network. "Honestly, I feel, hopefully, I'll be a tremendous factor in this game. So, as far as physically, 100 percent ready to go, just preparing like normal."
Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning has received all of the attention with Super Bowl 50 possibly being his final game, but the same can be said for Allen.
If Carolina wins the Super Bowl will it come as a shock if Allen retires? Probably not since he had just 2 sacks this season and will turn 34 years old in April.
Allen has racked up 136 sacks in his career, 85.5 of them during his six-year stay in Minnesota.
