Gophers defeat Huskies, 2-1

The No. 3-rated Gophers (18-9-1, 14-5-0) ended their Friday night losing streak at Mariucci Arena with a 2-1 victory over St. Cloud State (10-13-4, 7-9-3). Nick Bjugstad scored the game-winning goal about halfway through the second period. U of M will travel to the National Hockey Center in St. Cloud Saturday night for the second half of this home-and-home series.

Stars shutout Wild, 1-0

The Dallas Stars felt at home in St. Paul Tuesday night as they shutout the Wild, 1-0. Jamie Benn's third period goal was all Dallas needed, as Minnesota was blanked for the seventh time this season.

Wild buried in Avalanche of goals, 7-1

The Colorado Avalanche buried the Minnesota Wild, 7-1 in Denver last night. The Avs put the game away with three goals in a 1-minute, 54-second stretch in the second period. The Wild broke an eight-period scoreless streak when Devin Setoguchi scored in the third period.

Wild punchless in 3-1 loss to Blue Jackets

The Blue Jackets beat the Wild 3-1 Tuesday night in Columbus. Nate Prosser, who just signed a contract extension, scored the lone Wild goal, tying the game 1-1 in the first period. Niklas Backstrom took the loss allowing three goals on 37 shots.
