Jared Allen pops off, says Vikings need Winfield and to 'embrace the suck'

It was really only a matter of time before Vikings defensive end Jared Allen started to squawk about the team's 1-4 start.

“Winfield was a huge part of our defense,” Allen tells Sid Hartman about Antoine Winfield, who was let go and is still a free agent. “Always has been. Not having him obviously hurts.”

He's clearly frustrated with the team, and the defense in particular. “I hope someone knows what’s going on and I hope they fix it because it’s embarrassing," he tells Sid.

Meanwhile, Allen also gave a lengthy interview with NBC's Pro Football Talk. "We got a chance to do something epic here, let’s embrace the suck, let’s embrace this and move forward and it starts with one win ..."

He's not about to give up on the team. “You got a chance to come back from a 1-4 start," Allen tells PFT. "It’s not like we don’t have the talent, you know this team won a year ago, so we know how to win, we just got to get it done."
